The proposed modular system allows for a complete redesign of the chosen public space - administration building while maintaining its original square
footage.

The flexible system enables the building to be transformed, improving functionality and aesthetics without losing usable space. This approach enhances both the building’s effi ciency and adaptability, creating a modernized structure that integrates seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood. The proposed modular system is designed to optimize space and effi ciently replan existing buildings. Constructed from a combination of wood and steel plug system the modules are lightweight, cost-eff ective, and can be made fi reproof with the right construction techniques. This approach ensures a sustainable, adaptable solution that balances practicality and innovation while minimizing the environmental impact of retrofi tting and reconstruction projects. Additionally, recycled plastic is used for some components, making the system environmentally friendly.

For the competition, we selected the most severely damaged building as the foundation for developing a completely new modular system. Our design prioritizes fl exibility, allowing it to be applied not only to this structure but also to other buildings and public spaces. The modularsystem integrates innovative facade and roof components, improving energy effi ciency and resilience. It also considers public safety, incorporating bomb shelters and reinforced structural elements. Additionally, the design revitalizes ground fl oors by introducing newcommunal uses. The overall goal is to create vibrant, safe, and sustainable neighborhoods while respecting the local architectural identity. We enhanced the existing building's construction by adding improved insulation, increasing energy effi ciency and comfort. The designincorporates a bomb shelter, strategically placed in the basement for safety, while the entire structure is reinforced with more concretefor added strength and durability.
